My second Archer button up!
My first one I haven’t even blogged about (made from purple plaid fabric gifted by my great aunt) but let’s do this one first. (because I just finished it!)

I needed some structure and vision in my sewing journey. And apparently there were more like me (nope, i’m not a special snowflake): Seamwork Magazine came to the rescue!
They designed an 4 week program to help you plan your wardrobe. You can enroll twice a year and I decided to enter this February. It’s free, but you have to be a Seamwork Member (active or paused membership, it doesn’t matter)
Every workday for 4 weeks you get an email with dispatches, food for thought & worksheets. And step by step you getting closer to designing your wardrobe. That is a lovely result eh? But there is work to do. A lot.
There is a Design Your Wardrobe Facebook group and it totally took over my timeline. I loved it (because it all are very positive posts & all abouw sewing, what’s not to love?) but when the course started and I couldn’t start immediately, I got a bit overwhelmed with all the input the other students were giving. Long live the Instragram community! Through the Monetaparty I “met” Linda (@Listokap on Instagram).
She made a gorgeous Monetadress with hand stamped fabric (yes i LOVED the handstamped part) Lees verder “How I met Listokap or Finished: Grainline Studio Linden Sweatshirt”

When you want to sew every free minute just to complete your current project, you know it’s a satisfying sew.
I made the Megan Nielsen Darling Ranges dress, version 3. And I never going to take it of again. Well, almost. 🙂

Hi there! MeMadeMay was a blast, but also gave me an overdose of pictures of my outfits & myself. It was TOO much at the end. So I couldn’t bring myself writing any blogposts.
But I did some sewing! I finished my Itch to Stitch Bonn shirt, made my second Miette skirt, lengthened the Larktee pattern for a lovely tshirtdress and refashioned a XXXXL buttondown men shirt into a dress. The latter two I will show in another blogpost.
I made a BUTTON DOWN SHIRT! Yeah baby!
So, now the pictures.
It’s May 16th and I documented my outfit almost every day. I am pretty impressed by myself, because normally i’m not really dutifully 🙂
For every day (except one) I wore at least one Me Made garment and still haven’t worn every garment i made! I’m very proud of it, because I’m sewing since September 2015 so that’s 1,5 years now.
Also I’m good at thrifted clothing. My jeans are mostly from garage sales/ thriftshops. And all my RTW clothes are with me for a long, long time. Lees verder “Halfway MeMadeMay”
It is almost May and that means it’s time for MeMadeMay!
Last year I tried to join, but because I only started sewing 4 months earlier, I didn’t have much me made clothes.
This year I’m in for real.
Well, I did took the pledge at Zoë’s Blog (the organizer of MMMay17)
I, Niki, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’17. I endeavour to wear a MeMade garment each day for the duration of May 2017 and to discover which garments i’m missing in my wardrobe. I want to have a sewing plan for the “missing” garments at the end of May.
